Feeding Frenzy is an arcade-style aquatic video game written by Sprout Games, and published by PopCap Games. With an initial debut on February 11, 2004, it saw re-release on the Xbox Live Arcade service, with versions for both the original Xbox and the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 version, released March 15, 2006, was the 17th most popular Xbox Live Arcade title for 2006.
In February 2006, the sequel to this game, Feeding Frenzy 2 was released.
In 2016 Feeding Frenzy was made available for Xbox One backwards compatibility and is free to members on EA Access.
Gameplay
In Feeding Frenzy, players control a hungry marine predator intent on munching as many other fish as possible. During the course of the game's 40 levels, they will switch off between 5 marine animals. The last level is where they attempt to dethrone a large shark, the 'Shark King', using Orville the Orca. The player takes on the role of different aquatic species each trying to move up the food chain. As smaller fish are eaten, the player's own fish grows in size and becomes capable of eating somewhat larger fish. By the end of each level, the fish is sufficiently large enough that it can eat almost anything on-screen. Players must be vigilant for hazards which include depth charges, larger predators, naval mines, radiation-poisoned fish, and jellyfish.
If the player eats a sufficiently large number of fish in a short period of time, a score-enhancing Feeding Frenzy is initiated. If the player continues to rapidly consume other fish, a further Double Frenzy can be achieved. These both end when a short period of time without further rapid consumption elapses.

An arcade style game, Feeding Frenzy offers a unique underwater game playing experience. There are 40 levels in this game which features the player as a marine predator. The players goal is to eat any and all fish it encounters. There are a variety of colored fish ranging from yellow, red, white, purple and green. The more fish the player consumes, the larger it gets which increases its capability to hunt down and consume even larger fish towards the end of the level.
During the levels, the game features a variety of five fish for the player to alternate between such as Andy the Angel fish, Leon the Lion fish, Eddie the Angler fish, J.D. the John Dory fish and Orville the Orca. Orville will have a face-off with the Shark King to successfully win the game.
Although a casual game for the player, it does have some traps and hazards that are set up such as jellyfish, naval mines, other predators and more to make it that much more exciting and challenging.

Additional features in this game include the Feeding Frenzy modes. The first Feeding Frenzy mode is achieved by continuously eating many fish as possible in a short period. If this mode is kept up continuing to rapidly eat fish, it will go into Double Frenzy. These modes will stop once the player loses the rapid speed of eating the fish.
As well as the normal mode that can be played by either beginner or pro, this game also features a Time Attack Mode to give it a more challenging edge.
